Logo Design
I create logos that hold up across every format, from a favicon to a building sign, without losing clarity or impact.
How many logo concepts will I see?
I typically present 2 to 3 distinct concepts, each with a clear rationale for why it works. From there, we pick a direction and refine it through a structured revision process — usually 2 to 3 rounds of revisions to dial in the details. I don't present 10 concepts and ask you to pick your favorite. More options sounds generous, but it usually means less strategic thinking behind each one. A smaller number of well-considered directions leads to a stronger final mark than a pile of half-baked ideas.
How long does a logo design project take?
Most logo projects take 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff to final delivery. That includes a discovery phase where I learn about your business, audience, and competitive landscape, followed by concept development, presentation, revisions, and delivery of production-ready files. The biggest variable is the revision phase — if decisions come quickly, we stay on the shorter end. If there are multiple stakeholders or a lot of back-and-forth, it can extend. I build a realistic timeline into every proposal so you know what to expect.
What files will I receive?
You'll receive a complete logo package with everything you need to use your logo in any context. That includes vector files (SVG, AI, EPS) for print and large-format production, high-resolution rasters (PNG with transparency, JPG) for web and digital use, and versions optimized for specific scenarios — full color, reversed (white), single color, horizontal and stacked lockups, and a favicon/social media icon version. Files are organized in clearly labeled folders so you or anyone on your team can find the right file without guessing. The goal is that you never have to call me just to get the right format.
Do I own the logo after the project?
Yes. Full ownership and copyright of the final approved logo transfers to you upon final payment. You own it outright — no licensing fees, no usage restrictions, no ongoing royalties. I retain the right to display the work in my portfolio unless you specifically request otherwise, but the intellectual property is yours. This should be standard practice for any designer you work with, but it's worth asking because not everyone handles it the same way. I include the transfer of rights in every project agreement so it's documented.
Can you redesign my existing logo instead of starting from scratch?
Yes, and sometimes that's the smarter move. If your current logo has brand equity — people recognize it, it's been in market for years, it's on signage and vehicles and uniforms — a complete replacement can be risky. A refinement can modernize the mark, clean up proportions, improve legibility at small sizes, and update the typography without losing the recognition you've already built. During the discovery phase, I'll assess whether a refresh or a full redesign makes more sense based on your brand's history, your goals, and how much the current logo is working for or against you.
Should I get a logo or a full brand identity?
A logo is one piece of a brand identity — it's the most visible piece, but it doesn't work alone. A full identity system includes your logo, color palette, typography, image style, iconography, patterns, and usage rules that define how everything works together. If you're starting a new business, going through a rebrand, or your brand shows up differently everywhere because there's no system governing it, a full identity will serve you better long-term. If you're an established business that just needs the mark itself refreshed while keeping everything else intact, a standalone logo project works fine. I'll help you figure out which scope is right during the initial conversation.
